  • Not real or incredibly poor quality

The lens is as easy to scratch as a 2 dollar pair of toy glasses. Just from regular use they'll be unwarable by the end of the month. They also fog like no one's business. I used to own a pair of these glasses they weren't this fragile or sensitive to condensation. The description describes the product as impact resistant. Buy them if you wish but buyer beware.

  • IMO these are fake.

Really disappointed. Wanted these for a long time, finally saw them priced at $100 so I purchased them. When I opened them I immediately noticed how cheap the plastic is and I believe them to be knock offs. Put them on outside and realized they are not polorized either. I read the reviews that stated these same issues, but I wanted them so bad I got them anyway. Buyer beware.

  • NOT Polarized as stated in the description!

Got these today (Ships from and sold by Amazon.com) and was disappointed with the lenses.

    Description from Amazon page states:
    In Stock.
Ships from and sold by Amazon.com.
Color: Polished Black / Grey Lens
    Lens Color: Polarized Grey

The box does NOT say LENS: Polarized Grey. It says LENS: GREY

Frames are great, but lenses are not what was stated as to what I was buying. The -2 stars is Amazon's fault not Oakley's or the product they made. It is a great product if it was listed properly.

  • Make sure you read the product description befor you buy!

The glasses are great, but the product description was not clear. I thought I was buying polarized sunglasses, but they came standard. The lense colors available on the product page were "Grey Polarized" and "Polarized Grey". I chose the former and did not get what I thought I purchased. Price was still good, so I decided to keep them and got replacement polarized lenses(not from Amazon) that worked great. In the end I got what I wanted, but it took a lot more work than it should have. Guess I'll read te fine print next time!

  • Great value and very good sunglasses

    Final score: 4.5/5 stars

Very nice sunglasses for the price; excellent value. Plastic body/frame does feel a little cheap but it's very strong. Taking 1/2 star away for lack of 'grip' on the face. Any face movement can slide the glasses off the face a bit. Longer arms would help with possibly some rubberized sleeves. I've been wearing the Det Cord model and the Gas Can model is definitely a bit smaller (by only a few mm's) but the height it nicer than the Det Cord -- which can seem large at times; however, if you want to seal out light completely then the Det Cord is probably better. I do prefer the look of the Gas Can model though.

I purchased the Ruby Iridium lenses and they are ideal for bright skies. My Det Cord's use the Prizm lenses but I can confirm they do scratch easy. After only a couple of months I ended up with scratch dead center in one lens. And I was constantly babying these glasses...

  • Comfort, function, style. Just buy them!

I'm extremely pleased with these glasses. My whole life I have only owned $20-$40 sunglasses and wondered why people pay more. I now have my answer, and I'm never going back to anything but Oakley. Some features I'm enjoying that no other glasses have done for me:
-> These fully shroud the light from the sun. Usually glasses leave gaps at the top and sides that allows sun in, negating the purpose of wearing them. These shut out the sun very well.
-> These are for a larger head. Many other glasses are for tiny heads and cut off circulation during prolonged wear. These fit a larger head very well.
-> I have very long eyelashes, and I hate how all of the other glasses I've owned allow my eyelashes to brush the lenses when I blink which is very annoying. These don't allow my eyelashes to touch the lenses even when pushed all the way to my face.
-> Lens clarity is exceptional, there is really a noticeable difference.
-> They just look freakin' cool.

  • Genuine Oakleys, at less than half of MSRP.

These sunglasses look great, and thanks to their polarization, are fantastic at protecting my eyes as I drive into work. I got them for about 75 dollars, so I was definitely skeptical of their authenticity. However, lo and behold, they're real Oakleys. They fit a bit snugly, so beware if you have a head that's a bit wider. However, that definitely doesn't retract from the quality of the glasses themselves. The noseguards are built into the frame, so no worrying about them falling off or wearing down. I would recommend buying the suggested case as they only come in a protective vinyl bag. All in all, an excellent purchase, for a great price.

  • Shame on you, Oakley!

The cheapest pieces of crap I have ever tried on. After they arrived in the mail I took them out of the box and thought for sure they were fake...well it turns out they were real and Oakley's are just a very low quality product. If you want a legitimate pair of shades and want to get what you pay for, I suggest looking at a pair of Costa's.

I should also say the lenses were crap.
