Reviews

  • Best Backpack I Will Ever Own!

Wow! This backpack is sick! I have never owned any other Oakley products, however this pack came with such great reviews, I couldn't pass it up. I wanted a pack that was a little flashy, a little tactical, and a whole lot useful. I needed to transport a chromebook, a full size 17" laptop, keyboard, mouse, external hdd, portable tool kit, and the bag laughed at me and said "what else you got?" I have taken this bag on a lot of trips so far and I don't know how I will ever fill it. I didn't think I'd see myself using the sunglasses case on top, but then I found I could put my watch and other dedicates inside. I have hooked things to the outside, I have used the beverage straps on the side, I have thrown it, I have dragged it, and this bag just keeps on impressing. To be fair, outside of work, I am more boring than some of the reviewers on here, so I cannot comment on how well this bag will hold up on Everest, but this thing is a beast for my needs.

  • you have to jam things in for overnight travel but if you pack smart it all fits

3 years, 11 14ers 300 plus miles of hiking and 20+ airline flights and this thing still looks pristine( caveat might be I am very obsessive when it comes to taking care of my things). Before I bought this I seen some reviews saying it wouldnt hold up but I have to disagree, my only real complaint is the lack of decent external water bottle holders, you have to jam things in for overnight travel but if you pack smart it all fits, havent used it to hold my laptop so cant comment on that. If you like sharp looks this is a good buy

  • Excellent Quality Bag

I get a lot of compliments on this bag, not only does it look good it performs really good. I put things such as a basketball and I could fit 3 waters, 16.9 OZ on either side of the inside pocket.

    05/26/13 Update
I still think this bag rocks, I was able to fit 2 adult size basketballs the other day, it was tight though but it was able to clip it shut. The best part about this bag is the main compartment size and how it locks down with just those 2 front clips. I also enjoy how much stuff I could put in the side pockets since I like to pack a lot of fluids for my day. I also enjoy the waist strap and the chest strap because I usually have to walk about 2 blocks from where I park and sometimes I'm running and this bag does a great job with keeping it securely on my back. I don't use the front pockets very often since its hard to get stuff out of when you have the bag full because the pocket gets really tight. I only use the front pockets for things I rarely use such as for medications. The side pockets are not effected by what is in the main compartment and its really easy to get things in and out. I also don't use the Velcro that's on the side pockets. People like to grab the metal loops at times for fun but whatever its a great bag and its very durable.

  • Best Backpack I ever owned!

Well, my HP Elite 17.3 inch laptop did not fit through the rear zipper compartment but it does fit nicely through the top portion of the backpack. This backpack is awesome, I love it, plenty of room for everything. Love the ruggedized hardware and quality of this backpack. Was between this one and the lunch box, I choose this one, after placing all my stuff inside for work, I have plenty of room for putting my lunch box cooler inside. The backpack is a little heavier than others because of it's construction but I wouldn't want any other backpack--plan to us this for years. The fit is very comfortable and the back padding is supreme, I also never had a place to put the sunglasses away during the work day, the top compartment is just for that, awesome backpack and worth every penny, thanks Oakley, thanks Amazon, I just love this thing.

  • this backpack fits just fine under Southwest and Alaska Airlines seats

This backpack has seen lots of travel this year and no damage! Lots of room and very durable. When packed with a computer, iPad, cords and snacks, this backpack fits just fine under Southwest and Alaska Airlines seats. Many business travelers have a black backpack so this one stands out and keeps others from picking up my bag. Best features are the sunglasses pocket and the side pocket for computer.

  • Even this girl loves it!!!

I have been using this bag for almost 2 years, and it still looks as new as the day I got it!!! And it can hold soooooo much stuff. I bought it to carry my equipment on a mission trip. It definitely protected my things well, even under some pretty lousy weather conditions. I have even used this as a replacement for my 21" wheeled carry-on--it holds just as much. It easily accommodates a 17" laptop. It works great for everyday use, a weekend bag, or just going to the gym. The side pockets are very generous and can hold full-sized shampoo/conditioner bottles with room to spare. The bottom compartment can hold your shoes and/or sweaty gym clothes . . . and you won't fall over when you remember to take them out as it is ventilated. The front-zip pocket with the accessory organizers is a little difficult to access quickly as you have to unclip the top flap, but I do like that the organizers are hard, so your electronic stuff won't be compromised by an overstuffed bag. It is fairly pricey, but the quality is definitely there. I would shop around to find the best price you can get. A less manly version of this bag would be nice . . . although, I'm waaaaaayyy over it!!! ;)

  • Great for Bikers, College Kids, and Climbers

Got this for my motorcycle-riding-wall-and-rock-climbing-college-going brother. He has a 17" laptop, which didn't quite fit into the laptop compartment. However, it fits in perfectly behind the laptop compartment. This bag is super roomy and has many pockets to put things in. It harnesses the back nicely, and is easily adjustable. Very sturdy and hardy. He really enjoys it and it super happy with it.
He was recently in a motorcycle accident (just slipped on some ice, so he didn't get hurt), and luckily both him and the backpack came out scratch-less. (The price of the backpack was worth it) The bike, is another story. In regards to climbing, the metal holder things only hold up to 20lbs, so we don't recommend carrying a person from the front of the backpack.. However, attaching gear, water bottles, and other climbing essentials is easy to do and use. Definitely recommend this backpack.
